India is a central part of Sciences Po's Asia policy. As
an emerging power, India undergoes deep transformations
of its political, administrative and economical systems,
which affect in turn its system of higher education.
Governance reforms, the transformation of the role of the
State, the growth of the private sector and its regulation
are widely debated. The higher education sector stands at
a crossroad, between the surge of private institutions of
learning and research and the need for existing public universities
to adapt to the new economical context, including the internationalisation
aspect.
The combination between old intellectual traditions and
the confrontation to major global and domestic issues -
inclusive growth, poverty, climate change and environmental
hazards, democratisation, diversity - result in a particularly
rich ground for research and studies.
Sciences Po's India policy focuses on the growth of reciprocal
student mobility, through the development of numerous exchange
programmes and academic partnerships, organized around issues
located at the centre of India's public debate : environment
issues, public health, regulation and public affairs, urban
studies, science and society issues, etc.
This website introduces you to Sciences Po's threefold
India strategy : Student exchange programmes, academic partnerships
and the development of the alumni network.
