CHAIR HOLDER

Prof. Shin Dong KIM is the Director of the Institute for Communication Arts and Technology and Professor at the School of Communication of Hallym University (South Korea). Graduated in Communication at Indiana University (US), he has been successively Visiting Professor at Dartmouth College (Hanover), Macquarie University (Sydney), Ramkhamhaeng University (Bangkok), University of the PhilippinesPeking University and at Sciences Po in 2005 (Asia Chair).

Research and Teaching Areas :

RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Mr Stéphane Thévenet is preparing a Ph.D in Information and Communication Sciences under the supervision of Pr François Jost (University Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris 3). After studying within the Department of Korean Language and Civilization of the University Denis Diderot (Paris 7) he has focused his attention on Korean medias and especially on South-Korean television studies. He has conducted several researches about Korean TV entertainments and is currently doing a research on South-Korean TV fiction, nowadays massively exported in Asia.
He is a member of the Center for Korean studies (EHESS/CNRS) where he takes part in the research works conducted by the “Workshop about Men/Women relations in Korea”.
He is also a member of the CEISME, Centre de Recherche sur les Images et les Sons Médiatiques (University of Sorbonne Nouvelle).
